The impact of inter-generational demographic changes on

 the world of work and on organizational performance

The world of work is changing. The economic crisis, increased globalization, and the demographic crunch have all converged to rewrite the rules of the game. This session examines how generational differences impact the way we re-engage our workforce and rebuild the organization for results.

Our speaker is Mary Marcus, a recognized expert in the areas of generational diversity, competency development, leadership success mapping, and assessment. She focuses on building organizational success by assisting key leaders in clarifying their vision for their organization, and translating the vision into actionable behaviours and defining accountabilities and out-comes that enable organizational results.

In addition to her long experience in the business world and academic background in business, Mary is also an industrial and organizational psychology major, currently a PhD candidate. Her dissertation topic focuses on employee engagement issues across generations. She recently completed a cross-Canada speaking tour on her research into generational diversity that is a driving issue in organizations today. She is also conducting research relating to role design as a tool for engagement across the various generational cohorts.
