Gail Aller-Stead returns to the SLF board lthis season as chair of our new member-only Strategy Council. Last season she organized a pair of half-day workshops for us.
Gail is a Partner and the Practice Leader for Change Management for the Haines Centre for Strategic Management, a strategic alliance of consultants founded in 1990. Gail’s three key areas of focus with her clients are strategic management (Planning), human resources management (People), and operational excellence (Leadership, Change).
Gail has held senior internal consulting positions in human resources and organization development in the oil and gas (EnCana), telecommunications (Telus), transportation (CP Rail), consumer-packaged goods (Warner-Lambert), and pharmaceutical (Pfizer) industries. Recent clients have included energy and natural resources; consumer packaged goods; pharmaceuticals; tech; environmental management; finance, insurance, banking; and communications sectors.
Gail has also worked extensively in the not-for-profit sector, both as a member of a number of voluntary boards and in providing consulting services to not-for-profit organizations. She has served on the board of ACCORD (Association for Creative Change and Organization Renewal and Development) and as editor of its quarterly professional newsletter. She has been an active volunteer with the Strategic Leadership Forum in Toronto and in turn, the consultant and facilitator the SLF’s own strategic management process.
She holds an MSOD (Master of Science, Organization Development) degree from Pepperdine University (California), an undergraduate degree from Athabasca University, and diplomas in human resources management from the University of Alberta and Humber Institute of Technology & Advanced Learning.
