Mikhail Onqa joined the board of the SLF in December 2008 as Chair of our member-only Book Group. He is a software engineer with Energy Advantage and he is based in their Burlington head office. He currently works on Business Intelligence solutions that Energy Advantage offers to its growing list of clients.
Mikhail has many years of experience in database management systems, project development, and customer relations. Prior to this, he gained hands-on experience in the energy industry in pipeline management with Union Gas, and he designed and implemented ‘Sustainable Development’ software for a large engineering firm.
Mikhail has very diverse interests and always has new ideas percolating in the back of his head. For transportation and exercise, rollerblading is his method of choice. Tennis and golf are his other passions in sport. Mikhail also has a voracious appetite for books and is fascinated by technology, the environment and their future implications. He holds a degree in engineering from McMaster. .
