Keith Beveridge has rejoined the SLF board this year as VP of Programs. Previously, he served on our Human Capital Council committee.
Keith is a semi-retired senior Human Resources executive. In an international HR career spanning over 30 years on several continents, Keith dealt with both the positive and negative organizational impacts of rapid economic growth, deflation, and changing political and legislative environments on business operations. He managed the human resources aspects of organic growth and organizational mergers and acquisitions in periods of business expansion, as well as restructuring and downsizing of organizations to reduce costs and restore profitability in periods of business contraction.
During his career, he held progressively senior positions in large multi-national mining, petrochemical, petroleum, financial services and telecom organizations with business operations in Africa, North America, Europe and Australasia.
Prior to his retirement and relocation to Canada in 2003, Keith worked in Hong Kong for ten years, where he gained significant Asia-wide experience in developing and implementing organizational re-structuring, recruitment, training, leadership development, performance management, rewards, change management and employee relations policies, programs and practices.
Since returning to Canada, Keith has sought out human resources consulting and interim management opportunities. His last assignment was with the Asia Operations of Sun Life Financial. He was recruited on an interim basis to help the company build the organizational capability to significantly expand its market share in Asia.
Keith holds a B.A. in Economics and Sociology from the University of Capetown in South Africa and an M.Sc. in Management Studies from Durham University Business School in the UK.
